Përmet - 26-27 October 2018 - In the framework of the project "Community Actions for Protected Areas - ACAP", an  awareness and education campaign "Call to Schools for Action", has been launched among teachers, students and community in the protected areas.

The purpose of this campaign is to improve and raise awareness and environmental education on the protection of sensitive natural areas and to encourage perception and behavior towards nature and foster inspiration for actions with focus on nature promotion and conservation. The natural protection of the National Park "Bredhi i Hotovës-Dangëlli" was the theme selected in the Gjirokastra district.

The Awareness Campaign "Call to Schools for Action" is implemented by the staff of AdRZM Gjirokastra, Institute for Nature Conservation in Albania (INCA), in cooperation with the Italian organization COSV.

In this context, training was conducted with 9-year primary school teachers (teachers of elementary school, geography and biology in 5-9 grade classes) near the pilot areas considered by the project. The training was conducted by experts from IZHA, AKZM, INCA and COSV based on recycl education models and interpretation of PA values. The training offerd the opprtunity to use the Protected Areas as  open-air laboratory in the service of current curricula.
