The launching ceremony of the MPA_NETWORKS project took place on 4 February in Marseilles.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the 10 project partners, as well as by several associated partners and other organizations.
INCA experts also attended the meeting. They discussed around project activities and synergies that could be fostered around the Mediterranean were discussed. The message of the meeting was “joint work” and “building stronger human networks in order to contribute to the effectiveness of Marine Protected Areas”. The Mpa Networks project will focus on providing sustainable solutions that require greater access with MPA. These challenges include the global issue of management effectiveness and, more precisely, the management of small-scale fisheries in MPA, the conservation of mobile species and the development of sustainable funding mechanisms for MPA.
